Therefore, files in that particular folder are skipped from scanning or indexing by media players, including the Gallery and Photos app.

By deleting this file, the hidden WhatsApp media will appear in the gallery, as follows.

  2. Enable hereShow hidden media files’ option.
  3. Now go to your phone’s internal storage and search WhatsApp folder. Open it and go to Media> WhatsApp Images.
  4. Delete .nomedia file present here. Do the same for Private i Sent folders if needed, and you’re ready.

  1. Open the file manager and click Android folder.
  2. Here, tap media > com.whatsapp.
  3. Now you will find WhatsApp folder.
  4. Open it. Then click on Media and then WhatsApp images.
  5. You can now find and delete it .nomedia file.
  6. Do the same for Private i Sent folders.

3. Copy the photos to a separate folder

The above steps failed? In this case, you can move photos from the WhatsApp folder to another folder in your phone’s storage, as shown below.

  1. Open File Manager on your phone.
  2. Look WhatsApp folder in the internal memory directory.
  3. Navigate to WhatsApp> Media> WhatsApp images.
  4. Look for images in the ‘WhatsApp Images’ folder and the ‘Private’ directory within it.
  5. Select photos and copy them to another folder in the phone memory.

You can create a special folder in the internal memory and copy all the photos to this folder. All WhatsApp photos will now start appearing in your phone’s gallery. Just make sure there is no “.nomedia” file in the new folder.
