WhatsApp for iOS tests a new alert in the app when an unknown business account sends a message to users. This feature is set to be available in future software updates.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s latest beta, version 184.108.40.206, brings this new notification to the app for users receiving messages from business accounts.
The blog explains: “When you receive a message from unknown business accounts, a different and updated view is displayed: this view explains that you received a message from a company that is not saved in your contact list.
With this update, users can choose between two different options. Whether to block or save Jobs from their contact list. According to the blog, this “redesigned view is available to certain beta testers,” meaning more beta users will get this as well as other features in future updates.
Not only that, but WhatsApp is preparing a big change in its macOS application as it develops a new application using the Catalyst project.
How it transmits WABetaInfo, this new project will also benefit from the long-awaited iPad app. The blog writes:
What does a macOS application look like? Just like the iPad app we spotted some time ago. They have the same interface, but WhatsApp for macOS Catalyst will have some UI improvements: they are needed to use the app on the desktop interface properly.
Unfortunately, from now on, the company has to finish working on multi-device 2.0 compatibility in order for users to finally have an iPad app. Currently, all WhatsApp users can only try multi-device support in the public beta, which basically works for users to have open accounts in the macOS app without their iPhones nearby.
