Twitter has announced it is conducting a new test with some users in which ads start appearing in the middle of a conversation.
The announcement was made by Twitter product manager Bruce Falck (via Verge). According to Falck, if you’re part of this global test, you’ll see ads after the first, third, or eighth response below the tweet.
He says Twitter sees “a great opportunity to create an ad offering that creates value and aligns incentives for creators and advertisers”.
The company will experiment with this format in the coming months to understand how this will affect Twitter use.
“We will test different frequencies, schedules, contextually relevant ads, different insertion points, etc. We will test our knowledge and see if this is something we want to make permanent, ”says Falck. “We are excited to try this out for our advertisers and are eager to explore how this could open the door to additional opportunities to reward Tweet authors and creators. More to come. ”
As shown in the tweet, Twitter wants to offer personalized ads. For example, if you are talking about food, an ad about it will be displayed. Here’s how it will work for now:
Not only that, but yesterday Twitter also announced a new program for creators focused on its Spaces feature:
We are looking for sound creators who host interesting ones Twitter Spaces Today, or you have a creative idea for a new conversation you want to start. We want to support a variety of creators entering unique communities and conversations on Twitter. If you are accepted into the program, we will ask you to host your space twice a week for three months.
