TP-Link launches a pair of new Kasa smart plugs for outdoor use

TP-Link is expanding its product line for outdoor use by introducing a pair of new smart plugs on Monday. Kasa’s latest accessories bring smart outdoor outdoor comfort with an extremely long range, weather resistance and smart application and voice control.

“We are thrilled to present our latest outdoor innovations for smart homes for easy management of outdoor devices and lighting,” said Jeff Barney, CEO of TP-Link USA. “Our amazing external plugs offer a long range of Wi-Fi that allows users to easily stay connected while controlled by simple voice commands or using the Kasa Smart app.”

TP-Link’s Kasa KP401 external WiFi external plug provides a single smart hub-free socket that connects to existing home networks at distances of up to 300 feet. The KP401 has an IP64 weather resistance rating for year-round use and is ETL certified with support for loads up to 15A and up to 1875W.

Users can say goodbye to dead spots in their backyard using the Smart Wi-Fi External Plug Box (KP405). Connecting directly to an existing 2.4 GHz home wireless network, no additional hub or device is needed to take Wi-Fi outdoors up to 300 feet. It has an IP64 rating and has a weatherproof cover that provides protection against dust and water splashes. With the KP405, users can adjust the intensity of the connected exterior lights to set the perfect ambience and layout from sunrise to sunset for automatic energy savings.

The new KP405 Kasa Smart Wi-Fi outdoor plug for outdoor use also offers a single, smart weather-resistant socket with a range of 300 feet, but adds the ability to dim the mix. With dimming controls, users can adjust brightness levels on compatible outdoor lighting on demand, and through the layout, the lighting can be automatically turned on to the perfect level.

VPN offers: Lifetime license for $ 16, monthly plans of $ 1 and up

In addition to the Kasa app, both of the latest ports support voice controls via Alexa and Google Assistant. However, like previous editions of Kasa, the new connectors do not work with Apple’s HomeKit.

The TP-Link KP401 Cash Register Smart WiFi external plug is now available through Amazon for $ 16.99. The TP-Link KP405 Cash Register Smart Wi-Fi outdoor plug for outdoor use is also available from $ 29.99.
