The latest iRobot Roomba that can detect obstacles – including pet feces – is now cheaper than ever on its cleaning journey. Both Amazon and Wellbots have Roombu j7 and j7 + for $ 150 less, so you can take them for $ 499 and $ 699, respectively. Both robots are the same, but you will get a clean base with the j7 + model, which allows you to set up and forget the robot and empty the clean base only once in 60 days.

The j7 series builds on the Roomba i7 robots with more powerful cameras, better sensors and more power. Artificial intelligence-guided computer vision technology allows the device to detect obstacles and move around them while cleaning, and you can mark these obstacles as permanent (in the case of a chair or other piece of furniture) or temporary. Not only does this mean that j7 robots should move better around things like piles of clothes and charging cables, but they can also detect the main enemy of a robotic vacuum cleaner: pet feces. The iRobot even has an official promise from pet owners (yes, POOP) that it says you’ll get a new robot vacuum cleaner if your j7 + encounters poop in the first year of your ownership.
In addition, the j7 series takes advantage of iRobot’s enhanced mobile app, which allows you to schedule cleanings and set routine triggers. You can also mark rooms in your home after the robot creates a map, so you can better direct it to a specific room when you just need a quick clean.
Although a clean base included in the j7 + package is not necessary, it raises the level of convenience. Instead of emptying your robot’s bin after each job, j7 + will automatically empty its contents into a clean database when done. Then you only have to worry about emptying the base once every two months.
