The redesigned AirPods Pro 2 will support lossless high quality sound

Apple will launch the second generation AirPods Pro in the fall, according to an analyst who is also a reliable tipster. It will reportedly offer better sound than the current version thanks to lossless audio support. And there will be other changes.

Long before the launch, AirPods of all kinds were delivered like crazy thanks to Apple, which lowered the price, says the same analyst.

New AirPods Pro 2 in 2022

The latest tips on AirPods Pro 2 come in a note for investors sent by Ming-Chi Kuo of TF International Securities on Sunday and saw Cult Maca. In it, Kuo wrote:

“We expect Apple to launch AirPods Pro 2 in 4Q22 with new outlets, including a new form factor design, support for the Apple Lossless (ALAC) format and a charging case that can emit sound that users can follow.”

This is not the first time we have heard that a new version of these in-ear headphones will be released in the fall. But a previous report pointed to Q3, not Q4. The current version was launched in October 2019, so the new version looks set to be a full three years later.

What to expect from AirPods Pro 2

Kuo’s advice clearly indicates that the AirPods Pro 2 will be the first Apple wireless headset to support the company’s lossless format. In 2021, Apple Music started offering quality sound in this way. But AirPods only support the ACC format, which reduces the sound quality so it can be transmitted via Bluetooth. (By the way, that makes the ACC format a loss.)

Earlier rumors indicated that the AirPods Pro 2 could bring an even more compact design with a more rounded shape. Plus motion sensors for fitness monitoring. Kuo’s report also mentions health management features in truly wireless headphones.

Over the years, Kuo has built a reputation for reasonable precision. Apple Track gives it a score of 75.9%. Its sources are mainly in Apple’s component supply chains.

AirPods are sold as hot cakes

No new version will be needed for AirPods to have a successful quarter. Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple shipped 27 million of them in the last quarter of 2021, an increase of 25% over the previous year.

And he predicts that almost the same number will be delivered in the January quarter, although winter is often a slow time to sell gadgets.

“AirPods delivered better than expected for two consecutive quarters, and Apple launched AirPods 3 and cut the price of AirPods 2 in the fourth quarter of the 21st as the key to success,” he said.

During the holidays, Amazon sold AirPods 2 for only $ 89.99, far less than the usual $ 179. That deal is now over – the headphones are now only $ 10 off. But AirPods Pro 2 is $ 52 on Amazon.
