Clarifying the previous forecast, Ming-Chi Kuo now says that the new AirPods Pro model is expected at the end of 2022.

Following the release of AirPods Pro in October 2019, rumors of a new version began almost immediately thereafter. Now it seems that the release period has improved.

In a note to investors they saw AppleInsider, noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, claims that the devices will be ready in the fourth quarter of 2022. This is the narrowest forecast made so far, with the first predicting 2022, and the next predicting the second half of 2022, and the latest saying is the fourth calendar quarter of 2022.

This schedule puts it around Apple’s traditional fall release period.

The continuous leakage of products for the new AirPods Pro showed a shortened product carrier. Kuo did not comment on this this time, but doubts that “the main chip could be significantly upgraded.”

AirPods Pro is also reportedly getting a redesign that adds updated motion tracking devices for larger fitness apps. That redesign reportedly includes a brand new interior assembly, and perhaps two different sizes.

In a note from Wednesday, Kuo doubts Luxshare-ICT will be the main supplier for this product.

Earlier, Kuo said that the AirPods and Beats platforms as a whole in a wide range of prices are important for future growth for Apple and could be a “halo” product for the company as a whole.

“AirPods are more expensive, target users of Apple devices, and aim to provide innovation and an environmental experience to increase added value,” says Kuo. “Beats are cheaper, targeting users of Apple and non-Apple devices, and increasing shipments or market share.”
