The iPhone 14 is a year away and barely a month has passed since the introduction of the iPhone 13. Now rumors are already circulating that indicate what Apple has planned for next year. The latest suggests that Apple would include a 2TB storage option for the iPhone 14.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are the first Apple smartphones to have 1 TB of storage. This is the largest storage configuration Apple has offered on the iPhone. This could be linked to new camera features, including a ProRes video that should be unveiled later this year. Together with support for recording 4K 60 FPS video, ProRes could get a lot more storage space on the iPhone compared to regular videos. Let’s not forget that at the event for the presentation of the iPhone line, Apple launched the Pro models as a top tool for videographers and cameramen.
According to a stingy rumor from a Chinese website MyDrivers, Apple will adopt QLC flash storage for the iPhone next year, and this storage technology will help increase capacity to 2TB. While this iPhone 13 would make another “Pro”, rumors should be taken with a little salt.
This week ‘s previous report from DigiTimes was the first to claim that Apple would adopt new storage technology for the iPhone 14. However, the report lacks any special mention of the 2TB storage option.
Apple usually does not offer an upgrade unless it is justified or necessary for an improvement in another aspect of the iPhone. Moreover, the iPhone 14 is expected to be a visually redesigned device with minimal changes to the underlying hardware. Rumors so far suggest that Apple will remove the comma and decide to cut a hole in the screen for Face ID. While camera enhancements would entail, it probably won’t justify the new 2TB storage option.
