The Apple Watch Series 7 is now available for pre-orders, with first shipments arriving next week

After being announced in September along with the iPhone 13, the Apple Watch Series 7 is now available for pre-orders. The Apple Watch Series 7 is available in 41mm and 45mm sizes in three different materials, and the first orders arrive next Friday.

Pre-orders for the Apple Watch Series 7 are now live

The Apple Store is now online again for some users, so make sure you don’t see it yet. As usual, it takes time for the Apple Store to fully get back online for everyone. We always recommend that you try your luck first with the Apple Store app for iOS, not with Apple’s website.

As a refresh, the Apple Watch Series 7 features what Apple calls a “sophisticated design” with “softer, more rounded corners.” It’s available in 41mm and 45mm sizes, and Apple uses “a unique refractive edge that makes watches and full-screen apps seamlessly connect to the curvature of the case.”

Apple explains that there are several ways watchOS has been customized to take advantage of the larger screen by incorporating the new QWERTY keyboard:

The user interface is optimized to take advantage of the shape and size of the new screen. The Apple Watch Series 7 offers two additional larger font sizes and a new QWERTY keyboard that can be touched or dragged with QuickPath — allowing users to swipe as they type — and uses machine learning on the device to predict the next word based on context, making text input easier and faster. With watchOS 8, larger menu titles and buttons in apps like stopwatch, activity and alarm also make the screen even easier to interact with.

Apple says the wrist is down, the Always-On Retina screen is up to 70 percent brighter indoors than the Apple Watch 6 Series.

The Apple Watch Series 7 is available in aluminum, stainless steel and titanium, as well as with GPS or GPS + cellular connectivity.

Apple says the 7 Series charges up to 33% faster than the 6 Series, and that eight minutes of charging can give you enough battery life for eight hours of sleep monitoring.

In the box with the Apple Watch Series 7, you’ll get a new USB-C charging cable, but you’ll need to get your own charging brick. Apple says its charging statistics are based on tests conducted with an 18-W USB-C charger.
