Skydance Animation’s Happiness will be the second full-length animated film on Apple TV + when it premieres in August 2022. The voices of Jane Fonda, Whoopi Goldberg and other stars will be heard in the story of the most unhappy person in the world.
Although the release date and additional details about the film were released on Wednesday, there are still no trailers.
Apple TV + gets Lucky
Happiness tells the story of Sam Greenfield, the most unhappy person in the world. When he discovers a never-before-seen Land of Happiness, Sam must unite with the magical creatures there to reverse his happiness.
Eve Noble (COM)Hadestown, Miss Saigon, Yellow Rose) votes for Sam and Simon PeggMission: Impossible, Ice Age, Star Trek Beyond) reads Bob, a happy black cat who helps with the adventure.
Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner Whoopi Goldberg plays the head of security for the Land of Happiness, while two-time Oscar winner Jane Fonda votes for the dragon who is the CEO of Good Luck. Other stars add their voices Happiness include John Ratzenberger, Eva Noblezada, Flula Borg, Lil Rel Howery, Colin O’Donoghue and Adelynn Spoon.
The screenplay was written by Kiel Murray (Raya and the last dragon, Cars 3, Cars), Jon Aibel and Glenn Berger (Kung Fu Panda 2, Trolls).
Happiness is set to debut worldwide on Apple TV + on Friday, August 5th.
More animations are coming to Apple’s streaming service
Happiness is just the first production from the partnership between Apple TV + and Skydance Animation. Other upcoming titles include the film Enchantedand series Search for WondLa. Apple promises that several more animated feature films and television series have yet to be announced.
Watching any of these comes with a $ 4.99 monthly subscription to Apple’s streaming service.
