Samsung launches three new Galaxy Book laptops

On the eve of the holiday season and in line with Microsoft’s launch of Windows 11, Samsung has just announced a significant update to its Galaxy Book laptops, which all run on Windows 11. Today, Galaxy Book ($ 749.99 +), Galaxy Book Odyssey ($ 1399.99 +), and Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G ($ 1399.99 +) go to the next level.

Of the three, new Galaxy Book Odyssey (picture above) is the most interesting because it has the most performance for its weight. Technically, it should work like an entry-level gaming laptop, but still look like a typical premium slim (18mm) and lightweight (4.08 Lbs) 15.6 ”computer.

Corporate users would get a very powerful chassis system suitable for meeting meetings without RGB lights all over the place. Still, that computer could run complex scientific applications, with great fun while you’re on a business trip. There are plenty of ports, including a microSD reader (a full SD would be best).

Creative professionals involved in video editing or heavy photo shopping might be interested in 6-core Core i7-11600H CPU i GeForce RTX 3050 Ti graphics processor and 1TB of storage space. In my opinion, the maximum RAM capacity of 32 GB is also what makes it “creative” for people who work with large data sets.

The Galaxy Book Pro 360 5G is an ultra light (2.43 Lbs), ultra thin (11.43 mm), ultra-connected (5G), multimedia convertible laptop equipped with an excellent AMOLED screen that is compatible with Samsung’s S Pen.

This laptop is not focused on high performance, but instead focuses on usability comfort. It is designed to maximize your experience when watching movies, browsing or sketching if you have light computer needs. As a result, you can configure it with Core i7-1165G7, 16 GB and 512 GB of storage.

Basic Galaxy Book is more about achieving a good balance between quality and affordability. The general construction is quite decent, but it is neither very thin (15.5 mm) nor light (3.51 pounds). Users could be attracted by its pleasing design and Samsung brand, but the competition in this market segment is quite high.

We’ll see what the final specifications of the Galaxy Book are, but Samsung mentions a “dedicated graphics card” and a 15.6-inch FHD touchscreen, so that sounds like a decent basis.

Update: Samsung sent us the specifications in the table below:

The Galaxy Book should be available on today, and the Galaxy Book Odyssey will also hit, Amazon,, MicroCenter and NewEgg on November 11th.
