Samsung announces Smart Monitor M8 with iMac design, USB-C, AirPlay, webcam

Samsung has announced three new displays to launch this year, and one of the most exciting models for Mac users is the 32-inch Smart Monitor M8 with USB-C connection and convenient features like built-in AirPlay.

Samsung has unveiled its 2022 line of monitors for the start of CES in a press release.

“Samsung’s 2022 line represents the next generation in monitor innovation with an offering that meets the demands of competing players, professional designers and everyone in between,” said Hyesung Ha, executive vice president of visual displays at Samsung Electronics.

For Mac users, the new Smart Monitor M8 will probably be the most impressive of the three. With a new white finish and iMac-style design that comes in just 11.4mm thick (0.1mm thinner than the M1 iMac), this screen includes:

  • USB-C with charging up to 65W
  • Mobile magnetic SlimFit webcam
  • Brightness of 400 nits
  • 99% sRGB
  • 32-inch panel
  • “Warm white” finish
  • Thin frames
  • Serves as a smart TV

With an ultra-thin thickness of 11.4 mm, which is about three quarters thinner than the previous model, the 2022 Smart Monitor M8 32 ”(model name: M80B) provides spatial efficiency. Especially for those who appreciate style, it features a sophisticated flat back design with improved usability and comes in a new warm white color that fits perfectly everywhere. The brilliant UHD panel provides 99% sRGB color gamut while supporting 1.07 billion colors at 400 nits brightness, displaying every video, document or photo with true accuracy.

Samsung has not yet shared prices, release details or full technical specifications. But with the M7 Smart Monitor launched last year and coming with 4K resolution and built-in $ 400 AirPlay support, we would expect the upcoming M8 to retain those great features while remaining in accessible screen territory.

Samsung has also announced, as it says, the world’s first 1000R curved screen with 4K resolution and a refresh rate of 240Hz for gaming.

Odyssey Neo G8 features:

  • Mini-LED
  • 32-inch panel
  • Quantum HDR with a maximum brightness of 2000 nits
  • Refresh 240Hz
  • 4K 3,840 x 2,160 resolution

Finally, Samsung will launch two models of S8 UHD monitors:

  • 27 and 32 inch models
  • Up to 98% DCI-P3
  • USB-C connection with 90W charging
  • LAN ports
  • The world’s first UL-verified glare-free monitor

We will have to wait to find out the prices and details about the launch of these new Samsung screens. You can keep track of when it comes down below, along with the other best screens already available for Mac:
