Wormwood environmentally responsible Apple Watch bracelets are an elegant, modern and comfortable way to equip your wrist without causing unnecessary damage to our planet.

Cases are one of the most environmentally harmful aspects of the smartphone industry. Many users will go through multiple cases during the life of the phone, and although many phone components can be recycled (or handed over), and there are various programs that make it easier, it is not quite the same for cases.

As for frequently used accessories, many boxes end up discarded instead of recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.

Environmentally friendly solution

That’s where Pela started, making iPhone cases from more environmentally friendly materials. Now that trend has been caught, and many holster manufacturers have done the same.

The material Pela uses is called Flaxstic, which is made from bioplastic elastomer and flax straw. Flax straw has natural cushioning properties and is usually burned because it takes too long to decompose in farmer’s fields.

By using this together with bioplastics, Pela is able to make strong enclosures with a unique look that does not harm the environment.

When they pass, the boxes can be completely composted and can disintegrate into their natural components. The same material – Flaxstic – is also used in Apple Watch bracelets.

Each strap has vivid colors, is very smooth and comfortable to wear and no two are exactly the same.

When your band arrives from Pele, it arrives without the eyelets installed. It’s the same with the metal button that keeps it closed.

Pela has designed the bracelet so that the metal parts can be easily removed and recycled separately or reused on your new product. The button pops up and comes out, and we’ll have more about the eyelets in a moment.

On the mold of the bracelet is a small Pela logo and it has a similar clasp as Apple’s Sport Band. It wraps around your wrist and the end of your tongue goes through the other. When you tighten it well, the needle locks it in place so that it does not release.

We wore the bracelet and found the Flaxstic material to be extremely comfortable to wear for longer, and the buckle is flat and doesn’t stick to the joints.

The band comes in multiple colors, including Canary Yellow which we picked up alongside Stormy Blue, Clay, Black, Lavender, Teddy Brown and Forest Floor. There are two sizes of bracelets that match both sizes of Apple’s wearable computer.

Wonderful, wonderful sticks

We wholeheartedly appreciate the environmental aspect of the Pela watch strap, but as a true Apple nerd, we were also incredibly impressed with something much simpler – eyelets.

Of course, most people won’t pay attention to them, but Pela did something different and so in Apple’s style with these eyelets, we thought they should be praised.

As we mentioned, the eyelets do not come pre-installed on your belt, leaving users to install them themselves. Every normal Apple Watch connector will connect in one of two ways.

We see typical spring-style pins that hold the eyelets to the straps. They often require a special tool to pull the wedges out of the holes in the eyelets to release them. It is not an easy task.

Another style of pedals is what Apple uses, which use tiny screws to hold the lugs of the eyelets on the part that goes into the watch. When you remove the screws, the hand can be released and pulled out of the eyelet.

They are easy to remove, but require a small screwdriver.

There are other styles of pedals, but they are the most common. Then we have what Pella did.

First remove the Pela strap, rotate the arm arm, and then pull it out of the strap.

First remove the Pela tape, rotate the arm arm, and then pull it out of the tape. “

Worm loops come in two parts. These cast metal parts are joined together and held very securely when connected to your watch, but as soon as you remove them, they spread apart and allow the strap to come off without any problems.

You can see the process in the photo above, which is quite impressive. Users have no problem installing eyelets and can be reused with other tapes you may have.

Unfortunately, the eyelets only come in a polished silver color, which means they don’t fit into all the different colors of Apple Watch. However, it fits well enough with silver aluminum and both colors of stainless steel.

Should I buy

Honestly, the only reason not to consider Pela belts is purely your style. The bracelet itself is beautiful with bright colors, a lot of comfort and a secure button. By itself, this band deserves a place on your wrist.

The ecological aspect is a completely different reason. It is sent to you in extremely minimal packaging, it can be completely composted after use and there is no BPA or plastic in its production.

As a company, Apple has put a lot of effort into making the organization carbon neutral, reducing the use of plastic, and making packaging more compact and less wasteful. Many Apple customers feel similar and plan their own purchase to have the same values.

Pela does great things with his products and makes us feel even better when we buy his equipment.
