Microsoft is introducing a special edition of Xbox hardware for its 20th anniversary

It can be said with certainty that when Microsoft announced that it would play games, it surprised many. After all, at the time, the gaming industry was largely dominated by Nintendo and Sony when it came to consoles, so some were understandably skeptical of Microsoft’s plans to enter the console space.

Fast forward to today, Microsoft is one of the three major console players in the industry and it’s been about 20 years since the launch of the first Xbox. To celebrate this milestone, Microsoft has introduced several hardware for a special version of the 20th anniversary in the form of game controllers and headphones for games.

The controller is basically the same as the latest Xbox wireless controllers, except it has a new look. According to Microsoft, “The special edition controller for the 20th anniversary is a fresh glow on the transparent green of the original Xbox Debug kit. The controller housing has a transparent black finish with silver interiors so you can see every detail. The nostalgic, green Xbox button takes us back to the first green Xbox logo. The iconic color can be found both on the rear handles and around the hybrid D-pad. ”

It will run on Microsoft Xbox consoles including the X | Series S, Xbox One, along with Windows PCs and Android and iOS devices.

As for the headphones, Microsoft based this on the Xbox Stereo headphones, but with new colors and a slightly different design. According to the company, “The headphones similarly have a transparent black case with silver interiors so you can see what brings these headphones to life. Green accents on the microphone, inside and outside the earrings. The left disc is marked with the 20th anniversary logo in iconic green, and our Xbox logo is imprinted on the right dial, which can be seen on Xbox wireless and stereo headphones. ”

In terms of price and availability, the Xbox wireless controller for the special edition for the 20th anniversary and Xbox stereo headphones will be unveiled on November 15 at a price of $ 69.99 per piece and are available for pre-sale today in select markets.
