M1 all around: Mac mini and iPad Pro driver workstation developer [Setups]

Sometimes you see a workstation and you can tell by the equipment what its owner is doing. Today’s featured setup features the M1 Mac mini, a 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro i Acer laptop, plus a custom mechanical keyboard, network switch and a huge external hard drive. This led me to assume that the person could be an IT staff or a software developer. And I was right.

Mac mini and iPad Pro, plus Acer laptop

Pj describes himself as an Apple fanboy on his Facebook profile. His equipment supports that. It has an M1 Mac mini with 16GB of integrated memory and a 12.9-inch M1 iPad Pro – two powerful devices.

The fact that it required 16 GB of RAM instead of the standard 8 GB for the mini suggests that he is thinking of a job. And, of course, it has the largest and most powerful iPad and uses the Magic Keyboard with it.

His post says nothing about the Acer laptop, but it’s probably serious, worth playing.

It runs its machines along with a 32-inch Samsung A800 4k monitor. It manages a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels at a refresh rate of 60 Hz.

Keychron’s new Q1 custom mechanical keyboard

Even a beginner can customize the new Keychron Q1 mechanical keyboard. If it is not sold out. Which it is.

Pj also does not hurt in the input devices department. It has the always popular, customizable Logitech MX Master 3 for Mac. It allows you to easily switch between your Mac and PC.

Along with the Logi mouse, the Pj brings an extremely popular custom mechanical keyboard, the premium, all-metal Keychron Q1. As it says on the website, each version of the keeb with 75% of the schedule is sold out.

Pj’s Q1 is fully composed. You can order it without key caps and switches if you want to make your own customization, beyond the choices that Keychron offers. Pj’s keyboard, in Carbon Black, has Gateron Phantom Brown switches. It comes with a built-in muffler foam and a system switch to move back and forth between the PC and Mac.

I am, for example, jealous that I can’t buy a Q1 right now. I was thinking about switching to a mechanical keyboard. The Q1 looks great to get, just to get it.
