Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Everything You Need to Know

Our favorite pink puffball is soon getting a brand new game on the Nintendo Switch. Looks like this could be a more significant adventure than a few Kirby sliders that recently came to the hybrid system. It seems to be shaping up as one of the best games for the Nintendo Switch. Are you excited to play the game? Here’s everything you want to know about Kirby and the Forgotten Land.

During September 2021, Nintendo Direct, we got the first real look at the upcoming Kirby game. If you are interested, you can watch the video here.

The announcement shows Kirby washing up on land. Then he wanders around the abandoned remnants of some civilization. Tall buildings are overgrown with flora, rust affects the amusement park, and there is no one in the mall except the enemy. Given that this is the case, Kirby will probably have some mission to investigate what happened to these abandoned sites.

Is this Kirby an open world game?

Kirby and Forgotten Earth seems to have more open research than previous Kirby games with sidecrolling. From what we’ve seen so far, the game could be somewhat similar to Super Mario Odyssey, where you’ll be able to use Kirby’s classic platforming skills, but in far less limited locations. Still, there are definitely guided paths that don’t let Kirby stray. We will keep our ears to the ground and dig up more information as soon as possible.

HAL Laboratories has been the primary developer for Kirby from the very beginning and the studio is behind Forgotten Land. Given this, we can expect great things and know that they will deal with the characters properly.

Will it work with an amiib?

There are seven different Kirby amiibo from the Kirby amiibo line and Super Smash Bros. amiibo lines. These days, it’s kind of a replacement for whether the Switch game has amiibo scanning capabilities or not. At this point the amiibo scan has not been confirmed or denied for Kirby and the Forgotten Land. We will update you when we find out more.

You can play Kirby and the Forgotten Land when it is released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch in “Spring 2022”. We don’t have an exact date yet, but I’ll let you know when we find out more. It sells for $ 60, but reservations are not yet available.
