Pinecone & Pony start their adventures
The eight-episode Apple TV + series is based on the book The Princess and the Pony by New York Times bestselling author Kate Beaton. And the animators kept the original illustration style.
It’s about a young girl named Pinecone who, with the help of her best friend Pony, is learning that there’s more than one way to be a warrior. Together they’ll show their world how to challenge expectations, and that life can be a fun-filled adventure if you let it.
Stephanie Kaliner, who has been a writer on Odd Squad and many other series, acts as showrunner. The series features the voice talents of Maria Nash, Alicia Richardson, Andy Hull, Rachel House, Thom Allison, Chase W. Dillon and Viola Abley.
Pinecone & Pony will premier on Apple TV + on Friday, April 8, 2022 on Apple TV +.
Apple TV + has plenty to offer kids
Pinecone & Pony is a creation of DreamWorks Animation, who also developed Doug Unplugs for Apple TV +.
And these are just a couple of the shows for children offered by Apple’s streaming service. The Snoopy Show just returned for season two, and there’s a reboot of Fraggle Rock. Other offerings include the Emmy-winning Ghostwriter and Helpsters from Sesame Workshop, Wolfboy and the Everything Factory from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the Peabody-winning series Stillwater and many more.
Apple TV + costs $ 4.99 a month, and there are no commercials. Subscribers can watch on Mac, iPad and iPhone, of course, but also on smart TV platforms.
