JumpCloud is providing $ 169 million in funding to insure business Macs

The JumpCloud cloud directory service raised $ 159 million and $ 2.56 billion in a new round of funding, helped in part by expanding its Mac management services.

JumpCloud is a directory service that works in the cloud, giving businesses the ability to manage devices and users with a single sign-on (SSO) system. It was announced on Monday that the company had raised more money.

The F-Series funding round led by Sapphire Ventures and followed by Owl Rock, Whale Rock Capital, Sands Capital and Endeavor Catalyst raised a total of $ 159 million in investments. Funding follows the E-Series in January 2021, which raised $ 100 million, and the company’s total value is now $ 2.56 billion.

JumpCloud now has nearly 5,000 clients in more than 100 countries, consisting of many small and medium-sized IT IT teams and managed service partners. This was especially useful during the COVID-19 pandemic, helping firms remotely control devices as work-from-home strategies became important.

“IT teams have a strategic responsibility to ensure safe and efficient operations. The pandemic has accelerated their need for an infrastructure platform that is not limited to legacy domain-based approaches or requires multi-point solutions,” said Rajat Bhargava, CEO and Founder. JumpCloud.

“JumpCloud has redesigned a directory with a comprehensive, modern platform that makes it easier for IT administrators to adopt Zero Trust security models for more detailed access control, with user experience.”

As part of the company’s growth initiatives in 2021, it has expanded device management systems with Zero Touch Enrollment for Mac, allowing IT teams to automate enrollment for mobile device management and device implementation.

Taking advantage of Apple Business Manager with MDM for Mac systems, Macs are set up and configured automatically from the first startup, instead of requiring administrators to put their hands on the hardware.

JumpCloud also introduced Protect, a mobile MFA system for iOS and Android that verifies identity with a single touch. It has also added hundreds of single sign-on connectors for business applications and cloud platforms, and expanded its Multi Tenant Portal to improve customer supply capabilities for SMEs.
