Here’s how you know things are getting worse coronavirus again: when big film studios start suppressing their films instead of trying to make as much money as possible. Of course, it’s not for the safety of the audience – it’s for the safety of the box office, because postponing the film to a later date will generate more ticket sales than it would have been on the original date. And the first big movie to be postponed is the fourth outing of a world-class killer and famous dog lover John Wick.
John Vic 4 will now premiere on March 24, 2023, instead of May 27, 2022, as planned after Lionsgate postponed the film from its original date, May 21, 2021, due to coronavirus and Reeves ’commitment to film The Matrix: Resurrections (which happens to be coming out today, Dec. 22, on HBO Max and in theaters).
At least we have a fun little video to announce a new release date. here:
You will notice a poster that reads “Anderson, T.” is removed from the Top Bounties Committee, a clear sign of Tom Anderson, Keanu’s character from Matrix movies (perhaps they would know him better as Nea). Let us know in the comments if you notice anything else.
In addition to Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and Laurence Fishburne reprise their roles as Winston, Charon and Bowery King, respectively, for John Vic 4. They will be joined by newcomers to the Donnie Yen franchise (Rogue One), Hiroyuki SanadaMortal Kombat), Bill Skarsgård (It: The first chapter i Two), Shamier Anderson (Wynonna Earp), Scott Adkins (COM) Undisputed movies) and Clancy Brown (who is in everything); Also shows the film debut of pop star / model Rine Sawayama as Akira, born in Japan, raised in England.
