Apple has begun its fall hardware release plan with California Streaming, an event dedicated to its latest iPhone and Apple Watch models. And while those devices were obviously the main event, the company also announced a new iPad and iPad mini. Here is everything the company showed on Tuesday.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max
They include a host of enhancements for content creators, including a more capable camera system and a new one that can blur the background of your videos while keeping the theme in focus. However, an improvement that will most likely upgrade current iPhone owners is the addition of Apple’s ProMotion display technology. This feature allows the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max to adjust the refresh rates of their screens up to 120Hz for easier scrolling. The Pro offer starts at $ 999, pre-orders will open Sept. 17, and general availability will follow Sept. 24.
iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini
Apple’s new ones didn’t get as many upgrades as their Pro siblings, but the ones they did get are still noticeable. Internally, the devices feature new A15 Bionic chips and larger batteries. Apple has also redesigned its TrueDepth camera range to reduce it, resulting in a less prominent but still noticeable notch on both devices. The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini will start priced at $ 799 and $ 699 when they go on pre-sale on Friday and then go on sale Sept. 24.
Apple Watch 7
Yes, the Apple Watch will soon get bigger, but perhaps the more important story is that Apple has made carrying more durable. The 7 Series is the first Apple Watch to have dust resistance. The screen is also more resistant to cracking thanks to the refreshed design. When it arrives sometime this fall, the Series 7 will start at $ 399.
After two and a half years without refreshing, Apple’s mini iPad received a significant update on Tuesday. In short, the company basically took everything that made it so attractive and gave it to its smallest iPad. We’re talking about an updated design, USB-C connectivity, support for the second-generation Apple Pencil, and a brighter and more colorful screen, among various other upgrades. As of today, you can purchase the iPad mini for $ 499 before it arrives on September 24th.
It may not be different from the company’s previous starter tablet, but it does include some handy upgrades. The most important of these is the new 12-megapixel front-facing camera with an ultra-wide lens that comes with the iPad Pro Center Stage feature. Turning on Center Stage allows the camera to intelligently crop the subject so that they are always in the center of the frame. The ninth-generation iPad will cost $ 329 when it becomes available on September 24th.
In addition to the new hardware, Apple has announced that it will. It will release both iPadOS 15 and watchOS 8 on the same day. Last but not least, the company said it plans to update Fitness + to make it easier for users to participate with friends and family.
