Disney held its first Disney + day on Friday, and don’t you know, new content from Marvel Studios dominated the list, and the company announced or provided updates on 12 different live shows and animated shows. You can see an early look at footage of some of the upcoming shows on the Disney + website.
Let’s start with the news that almost everyone is excited about. Disney is back X-Men: Animated series as part of a new project called X-Men ’97. It will continue where the original series ended after a five-year run between 1992 and 1997. The X-Men ’97 will debut in 2023.
After his excellent performance in Dune as Duke Leto Atreides, Oscar Issac will play Marco Spector Moon Knight. Much like in comics, Spector has a dissociative identity disorder that sees the belief that he is the human incarnation of the Egyptian Khonshu. Moon Knight will also star Ethan Hawke. Moon Knight will debut next year, according to Disney.
In She-Hulk, Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black,, The other half) plays Jennifer Walters, a lawyer who inherits powers similar to the Hulk. If you love Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, don’t worry. Disney has already confirmed that it will repeat its role. She-Hulk will appear on Disney + sometime in 2022.
Since her solo debut in 2016, Kamala Khan has had incredible success as Ms. Marvel. Not only were her comics one of the best Marvel comics of recent years, but she was also one of the few highlights in an otherwise gloomy Marvel Avengers video game from Square Enix. He is now preparing to get his own live series that will debut in the summer of 2022.
Hawkeye will debut only later this month, but Disney already has plans for a live spin-off starring Alaqua Cox’s character Maya Lopez. When will we find out more about Lopez Hawkeye the stream begins on November 24th.
Dominique Thorne will star in this live series in which Riri Williams, aka Ironheart, will create the most advanced armor from Iron Man.
Agatha: The house of darkness
As expected, Kathryn Hahn WandaVision the character of Agatha Harkness will star in her own live spin-off series. Jac Schaefer will produce and write the series.
After appearing in almost every Marvel movie, Nick Fury Samuel L. Jackson finally gets his time in the spotlight thanks to Secret invasion. Ben Mendelsohn will star alongside Jackson as Skrull Talos in the live series.
Whether you liked the first season What if…? or felt, like us, that it has not fulfilled its potential, Disney is going forward with a second season. The Watcher will return to meet new heroes and explore multiple MCU multiverses, and AC Bradley will return as lead writer.
Spider-Man: Freshman Year
In another animated series, Marvel plans to tell the story of Peter Parker before he became Spider-Man from MCU. The studio says this one will celebrate the early roots of this character’s comics.
It’s time for Groot to shine. She is everyone’s favorite Guardians of the Galaxy the characters will star in his own animated series called I’m Groot. again, there is no release date for this, but Kirsten Lepore – best known for short films like Sweet Dreams i Bottle – will manage the project.
“You know what the MCU is missing? Zombies, ”no one has ever said, but that hasn’t stopped Disney from giving the green light for an animated series that will counter some of your favorite heroes with the endless tide of the dead.
