Beats released a new version of their Beats Studio Buds on Tuesday in a joint effort with trendy men’s fashion store Union. The limited edition wireless headphones mark the 30th anniversary of the Union. You can get them at store locations in Los Angeles and Tokyo, and from Wednesday, online as well.

The new-looking Studio Buds have bold red, black and green designs and matching packaging. The look is inspired by the Pan-African flag and recognizes the roots of the Union as a business owned by blacks. The original Union frontman logo appears on the headphone case.

“Music is the lifeblood of our shop, so when the Beats approached us, we were excited to work with them on these Buds. Collaboration is almost as important as music, ”said Union founders Chris and Beth Gibbs. “It’s a great feeling to work with Beats on this project and work with Vince Staples, a longtime friend of the store, to bring our vision to life.”

Beats Studio Buds: ANC and Find My Integration

Beats Studio Buds, first released in June 2021, were the first Beats true wireless headphones to offer Active Noise Canceling (ANC) and Transparency Mode. They have six microphones that help reduce external sound and improve the quality of phone calls. Despite the compact design, they somehow matched the AirPods Pro.

Studio Buds does not use Apple’s H1 or W1 chip. So, although they are easily paired with an iPhone or iPad, they need to be paired one device at a time. They also lack ear detection.

They do, however, integrate with Apple’s Find My app. This allows you to pair them with Bluetooth and locate the headphones by playing audio or using their last known location.

If you like the new look and want to get a pair of Beats Studio Buds headphones, you can find them in Union stores in Los Angeles and Tokyo. Or you can buy them on the U.S. or Japanese store website from Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 9 a.m. PST.

Price: $ 149.99.
