Apple Stock News: Apple supplier Foxconn forecasts an up to 3% fall in revenue from the supply chain crisis. This could be its first annual sales decline in six years, as a result of the shortening of chips and surge in demand after the COVID-19 pandemic. Foxconn stated that the Shenzhen campus may restart some production and operation after meeting government conditions.

Chairman Liu Young-way said on a post-earnings call on Wednesday that Foxconn may turn into a better situation in the second half of the year. Liu also indicated that high inflation and uncertainty of global politics may be potentially dangerous factors for the supply chain, but the situation may be better in the second half of 2022. Foxconn expected limited impact from the war in Ukraine because Russia and Ukraine are not the main import sources of raw materials such as nickel and neon. On the other hand, Foxconn recently announced its future plan in the electric vehicle industry, Foxconn deals with a variety of companies including Lordstown Motors Corp., forecasting annual production of up to 750,000 units by 2025.

Apple plans to launch new iPad Pro models with OLED displays in both 11-inch and 12.9-inch sizes in the future, according to a report published today by Ross Young, co-founder and CEO of research firm Display Supply Chain Consultants. Elec claims that the OLED display will be low-power LTPO panels, which could allow future iPad Pro models to have a wider ProMotion refresh rate range between 10Hz and 120Hz, in line with iPhone 13 Pro models. Since 2017, iPad Pro models have supported ProMotion, but with refresh rates between 24Hz and 120Hz. Refresh rates as low as 10Hz will allow for higher power efficiency.

According to The Elec, The displays are also expected to utilize a two-layer tandem structure to increase brightness and extend service life. Young has proven to be a reliable source of information about future Apple product displays. Last year, for example, he accurately claimed that the new iPad Mini would have an 8.3-inch display and remove the Home button. He was also the first to report that the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros will be equipped with ProMotion displays.

Benchmark results for the new iPad Air reveal that Apple has not downclocked the M1 chip to artificially limit the device’s performance. Apple didn’t provide any more details on when the updated Mac Pro will be available, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has said that Apple plans to make more Mac-related announcements in May and June.

The M1 iPad Air’s average single-core and multi-core scores are around 1,700 and 7,200, respectively. These scores confirm that the M1 iPad Air’s performance is the same as the M1 iPad Pro’s, while CPU performance is around 60% to 70% faster than the fourth-generation iPad Air with the A14 Bionic chip. “The breakthrough M1 chip in the iPad Air delivers a huge performance boost for the most demanding applications and workflows, with incredible power efficiency and all-day battery life”.

Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Guo tweeted that Apple’s long-rumored electric car team “has been disbanded for some time” and will have to be reorganized soon to start mass production in 2025. Apple’s electric car plans have faced several setbacks since the project was approved in 2014, including several leadership changes.

In November 2021, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that Apple was speeding up work on the project and aiming for electric cars with fully autonomous driving capabilities. Gourmet said Apple car is aiming for a 2025 release, but the timeframe may be changed due to development challenges.
