Exclusive to PlayStation Bugsnax becomes much bigger in several different ways next year with the Isle of BIGsnax update. Going on the PlayStation 4 and PS5 in early 2022, the Isle of BIGsnax unlocks a new landscape filled with oversized Bugsnax, plus adds challenges to the possibilities of completing and arranging huts on Snaktooth Island. And of course, the sweetest part of the update is the ability to dress your Bugsnax in a variety of hats.
The Isle of BIGsnax update will be free for everyone Bugsnax owners (try to say it ten times faster).
Bugsnax was the title for the PS5 launch, which fell alongside a narrow list of big names such as Spider-Man: Miles Morales i Remake Demon’s Souls. It comes from the independent studio Young Horses, which was previously known for its production Eighty, a surprisingly touching physics game about an octopus pretending to be a normal father.
Recently, Young Horses hit the headlines to establish a permanent four-day work week, in the interest of fostering a healthy work-life balance. This is a big deal in the video game industry, where the fix – implementing 100-hour weeks and otherwise overloading the lives of employees – is a common business practice.
“While I enjoy making weird games, it’s also very important that I make responsible decisions about taking care of the people I work with, things like that,” Young Horses co-founder Philip Tibitoski told Engadget in January. “It has become much more than it was, or at least I have moved on to the business, the role of boss, I guess. Strange, but it feels right. ”
