Eve introduces a new security camera and MotionBlinds for HomeKit

Eve Systems had two news related to HomeKit at CES 2022 in Las Vegas on Monday, unveiling the all-new Eve Outdoor Cam for launch in early April and saying its smart curtains linked to Thread – MotionBlinds – are now widely available.

Eve Outdoor Cam

Eve named her new camera the first reflector camera designed exclusively for the Apple HomeKit. As such, Eve Outdoor Cam aims to help keep your home safe.

The Eve Outdoor Cam is set to launch on April 5, 2022 for $ 249.95 from Eve, Amazon and later Apple.

The camera has a field of view of 157 degrees. Supports infrared night vision and IP55 certification. Its infrared motion detection triggers recordings and an integrated reflector.

Works exclusively with HomeKit

Designed to work exclusively with HomeKit, the camera supports a number of HomeKit features. It takes advantage of HomeKit Secure Video Recording and can maintain a 10-day recording history. Can provide smart notifications based on subject detection. The camera also has two-way communication with an integrated microphone and speaker.

In accordance with the limitations of HomeKit, video recording is achieved at a maximum of 1080p at 24 frames per second.

“Combining sleek aesthetics with technology designed to protect privacy, the Eve Outdoor Cam transcends legacy surveillance camera concepts with its striking appearance and manufacturer’s clouds,” said Eve Systems CEO Jerome Gackel. “Eve Outdoor Cam embodies what Eve represents: beautiful, connected home products that set the standard for smart homes that come first for privacy.”

Eve also mentioned the SmartBlinds blinds, the result of a collaboration between Eve and Coulisse window covering experts, are now available for ordering from resellers around the world.

Eve said that these are the first Thread-related blinds for HomeKit. They are designed for easy and quick installation, do not require a gateway or bridge device.

You can order Eve MotionBlinds from SelectBlinds.com in the US, abcblinds.com.au in Australia, SmartBlinds.com in the EU and also from OmniaBlinds.com and Sonevo.de. You can find resellers here.

“When you add window coverings to your connected home, it is crucial to make a choice that is safe for the future,” Gackel said. “As Thread-enabled add-ons, Eve MotionBlinds can support Matter, the smart home standard of the future currently being developed by Google, Amazon, Apple and a number of lottery manufacturers.”
