As the business day on Tuesday begins west of the international date, Apple customers in countries like Japan receive their 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro orders – and post photos in unpacking on social media platforms.
As usual, early MacBook Pro owners are coming to Twitter, Instagram and other platforms to show off their new hardware. The latest Apple MacBook models arrived at the front door Tuesday after the launch and began pre-ordering last week.
Buyers in Japan are already posting views on the new machines, and some are quickly highlighting the thicker and heavier chassis of the design compared to last year’s premium MacBook Pro models. Almost all users pay special attention to the laptop ports, which for the first time in five years include an HDMI port and an SDXC card slot. MagSafe is also back and is prominently featured in several photos.
MacBook’s Liquid Retina XDR screen with mini-LED backlighting is another hot topic, as is the cutout of the camera body on the screen. To get additional screen real estate, Apple uses the iPhone trick “for all screens” which integrates a relatively large camera module into the “notch” in the upper center of the screen. The result is a more expansive screen that pushes the already narrow bezels to the outer edges of the MacBook Pro’s lid.
Customers in New Zealand also receive their orders in the mail through local retailers, but potential customers in Australia, Japan and other countries where the calendar became on October 26, can try their luck at a nearby Apple Store. Currently, Apple’s online storefront displays stock of all configurations, although stockpiles of more popular models should arrive at common locations on launch day. How often the initial stock will be replenished remains unclear.
Apple’s redesigned MacBook Pro models feature mini-LED displays, powerful and efficient Apple Silicon chips, a range of ports, a 1080p camera, an enhanced keyboard with function keys, MagSafe 3, audio enhancements and more.
