Do you have a Mac Pro 2019? OWC offers the “fastest and largest storage capacity” in the world

Memory and storage vendor OWC has introduced its new Accelsior 8M2 PCIe SSD (SSD), calling it the “fastest and largest capacity” storage system of its kind for your Mac Pro 2019, or any Windows, Linux or PCIe expansion system.

OWC said the Accelsior 8M2 delivers the fastest data rates for the 2019 Mac Pro – up to 12,000 MB per second PCIe Gen 3 speeds. The 8M2 is also ready for PCIe Gen 4, meaning future speeds should reach 26,000 MB per second, the company said.

The devices have a huge storage capacity – up to 64 TB in up to eight SSDs. It uses the full bandwidth of the latest PCIe technology and has an efficient heat dissipation design, the company said.

“We’re always trying to push technology to the limits, and with the OWC Accelsior 8M2, it can be summed up in one final sentence,” said Larry O’Connor, CEO and founder of OWC. “It’s the fastest-capacity PCIe SSD in the galaxy.”

OWC Accelsior 8M2: high-capacity storage for advanced users

This hardware is clearly aimed at advanced users who work with powerful programs. OWC says that the Accelsior 8M2 allows you to improve performance in various areas:

  • Edit and play multiple high definition video streams.
  • Keep your landscape and page textures sharp and fluid without interruption in virtual reality environments.
  • Experiment with larger formats.
  • Make sure augmented reality visualizations look realistic.
  • Edit and store huge photo images and graphic files.
  • Experience faster views, renderings and processing in VFX programs.
  • Save files and work with multiple production libraries and applications.
  • Run more iterations in DevOps in less time.
  • Quickly transfer essential data to cloud archives for more advanced Internet of Things management.

Edge computing, drive management software

As an NVMe-based high-performance storage solution, the OWC Accelsior 8M2 delivers the consistent, low-latency data flow needed in edge-of-computing applications such as industrial automation, smart urban ecosystems and smart retail solutions, OWC said. The 8M2 feeds huge amounts of data to the CPU and GPU fast enough for real-time predictive analytics.

And to ensure that the OWC Accelsior 8M2 continues to operate at maximum speed in the long run, there is a silent cooling fan in the aluminum heat shield for the aircraft, the company added.

Using with 8M2, OWC’s SoftRAID XT disk management software allows you to create, monitor and manage RAID arrays. Works with macOS 11 Big Sur, M1 Macs and Windows 10.

Price: The OWC Accelsior 8M2 SSD is available in capacities ranging from 0TB (add your own drives) starting at $ 799 and models from 2TB, 4TB, 8TB, 16TB, 32TB and 64TB starting at $ 1,299.
