Apple Arcade subscribers are playing as legendary Disney and Pixar characters in a multiplayer multi-player battle arena (MOBA) style game that will become an exclusive platform in December.

Announced Monday, “Disney Melee Mania” by developer Mighty Bear Games pits an assortment of characters from the Disney and Pixar franchises against each other in a virtual fight.

The title is suitable for a family as much as a quarrel can be. Mickey Mouse, Moana, Buzz Lightyear and others are presented as holograms, not direct depictions of beloved characters, and a struggle in a “never-before-seen” virtual arena.

It seems that up to six players can join 3 on 3 online matches, although Apple did not offer game details. Each round lasts five minutes, and the competitors have the task to collect points or defeat the opposing team as many times as possible during the given time.

A clip of the action shared on Twitter shows simplified MOBA-style mechanics tuned for close-up combat, with champions inflicting character-specific moves and abilities. There are multiple game modes and challenges, and players can earn in-game prizes at events.

Apple has not released a complete list for “Disney Melee Mania”, but says the game will be launched with 12 characters. More heroes will be added regularly in app updates.

So far, previews have revealed Bing Bong from “Inside,” Buzz Lightyear from “Toy Story,” Elsa from “Frozen,” Frozone from “The Incredibles,” Jasmine from “Aladdin,” Maleficent from “Sleeping Beauty,” Mickey Mouse. Moana, Mulan, Timon from “The Lion King” and Wreck-It Ralph. Each character has an “action-ready design” and cosmetics that can be unlocked.

“Disney Melee Mania” debuts in December as the exclusive Apple Arcade. Apple’s subscription service offers access to more than 200 games at a monthly price of $ 4.99 or a single annual payment of $ 49.99.
