Apple affiliate Claris this week released an update for its flagship FileMaker Pro software with a number of new features and enhancements, including shortcuts for macOS Monterey.

In macOS Monterey, FileMaker Pro 19.4.1 for the first time brings shortcut support for the Mac version of Claris’ low-code software development tool. Using the Script workspace, users can specify which FileMaker scripts within the FileMaker Pro file to submit to shortcuts, and then use Siri or the Shortcuts application to open the file, run the script, or pass an optional parameter.

Shortcuts are available for FileMaker Go from version 19 which was launched on iOS 2020.

The latest version of FileMaker Pro supports multiple OAuth identity providers, while the new custom OAuth account type allows the software to authenticate users through a custom identity provider. Additionally, the new session identifier allows custom application developers to provide administrators with more user information.

Features improved in version 19.4.1 include faster SQL queries for field information in FileMaker Pro files and enhancements to the “Requirement” option in the FileMaker Data API script step.

A number of issues have been resolved in the release, and Claris has noticed that FileMaker Pro has now been updated to OpenSSL version 1.1.1l. A complete list of bug fixes for Windows and Mac is included in the accompanying release notes.

To track FileMaker Pro version 19.4.1, Claris also released FileMaker Server 19.4.1 and FileMaker Go 19.4.1 on Tuesday.

Claris switched from annual releases to a permanent schedule in 2020 and has since released a number of significant updates to its FileMaker Pro product, the most recent of which provided support for Apple Silicon Macs in June.

FileMaker Pro can be purchased on Claris ’website for $ 19 per user per month.
