If you’ve ever suffered major water damage from a leak, you probably wish you could’ve found the problem before it was too late. Now you can – if you have the right smart home automation.

The second generation of the Bluetooth-enabled Eve Water Guard adds Thread networking technology that works with HomeKit. That lets it automatically join your Thread network and provide water leak notifications in Apple’s Home app before the damage is done.

Leak patrol: Eve Water Guard as part of your Thread network

With its new Thread networking technology, Eve Water Guard now acts as a Thread network router node. It relays other Thread accessories’ data and helps strengthen and stabilize your smart home network. Thread is a key aspect of the new Matter standard backed by Apple and other major tech companies.

“This is the year of Thread and Matter, and Eve is kicking 2022 off by expanding what is already the largest Thread portfolio in the market,” says Jerome Gackel, CEO of Eve Systems. Eve Water Guard is the company’s eleventh product to feature Thread. “Seamlessly working without a bridge or cloud, Eve products with Thread deliver the smart home experience of the future today.”

Detects water where it doesn’t belong

Eve Water Guard comes with a 6.5-foot sensing cable that monitors large room areas. You can extend it up to an incredible 490 feet with an additional sensing cable.

When Eve Water Guard senses water where it doesn’t belong, it can trigger other HomeKit accessories. For example, it could use an Eve Energy switch to shut off the outlet where you plug in your washing machine, or other source of water may be coming from.

Before you have a damaging leak from a sink, dishwasher, washing machine, bathtub, refrigerator or freezer, consider smartening up your smart home with some new technology.

You can pick up the latest Eve Water Guard on the company’s website. It should also come to Amazon soon.
