ASUS announces ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ and PG42UQ game monitors

One of the companies coming to CES without a lack of announcements of new products is ASUS, which has a lot of fingers in a wide range of different types of PC hardware and peripherals. To that end, ASUS has introduced two new ROG game monitors for those looking for large screens, the 48 “ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ and the 42” ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ. Both models have impressive specifications, including a resolution of 3840 x 2160 (4K), a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an ultra-fast GTG response time of 0.1 ms.

There are many different monitors on the market ranging from the cheapest to the most expensive and feature rich. There aren’t that many choices when it comes to OLED game monitors. Although OLED variants have advantages over their conventional counterparts, including better contrast ratios, they usually come with high prices. ASUS has two new options for users looking for a large OLED gaming monitor, the 48 “ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ and the smaller 42” ROG Swift OLED PG42UQ, which ASUS claims is the world’s first 42-inch 4K OLED gaming monitor.

Both the ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ and PG42UQ have identical specifications except for the overall screen size. This includes an OLED panel with anti-glare coating and microtexture and a 16: 9 aspect ratio with supported resolutions up to 3840 x 2160. Looking at finer specifications, ASUS states a response time of 0.1 ms GTG (gray to gray), with a fast refresh rate of 120 Hz . Other specifications include true 10-bit color depth with 98% DCI-P3 calibrated from the factory. ASUS also advertises a contrast ratio of 1,000,000: 1 and has VRR technology and ALLM modes for players on consoles.

Focusing on I / O, both monitors include two HDMI 2.1, two HDMI 2.0 and one DisplayPort 1.4 video input, as well as a USB hub and two 3.5mm audio ports consisting of a line output and a headphone jack. As for the USB hub, ASUS did not specify which type of port, how many generations there are USB ports at the moment.

At the time of writing, ASUS has not specified when the ROG Swift OLED PG48UQ or PG42UQ will go on sale or how much it could cost.
