AppleCare + now covers cracked glass on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 for a reduced fee of $ 29

Apple indicated today that damage to the “rear window only” on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 is now acceptable for repair under AppleCare + with a reduced fee of $ 29 in the United States, $ 39 in Canada, £ 25 in the UK or equivalent in other countries .

Prior to this change, a cracked or damaged rear window on the iPhone 12 cost $ 99 to repair if the device was covered by the AppleCare + plan.

To qualify for the $ 29 repair, the iPhone must be covered with an AppleCare + and there is no additional damage other than a damaged rear window that would prevent Apple from replacing the rear window, such as a bent or recessed case. However, if the iPhone has damage to both the screen and the rear window, but no additional damage, Apple or an Apple Authorized Repairer can repair the device for a total of $ 58 in fees.

Reduced-rate rear window repairs are not available on models older than the iPhone 12, according to Apple. More details are available on the iPhone Repair and Service website and in the recently updated AppleCare + terms and conditions.
