Apple TV + plans to present its Friday on Friday, December 10th Peanuts especially after an agreement was reached with manufacturing companies last year. Right For Auld Lang Syne, shows a classic gang of children’s cartoon characters trying to throw the biggest New Year’s party.
The new show marks the first time a Peanuts special in the title didn’t have the name “Charlie Brown” (main character, but you knew it) or “Snoopy” (his dog, but you knew that too).
One wonders if it is Peanuts comic book creator Charles “Sparky” Schulz, who drew it for nearly 50 years and had a strong role in TV specials before his death in 2000, would approve. Probably would, given the involvement of Shulz’s associates and family members in the new production.
For Auld Lang Syne is based on the story of Alex Galatis and Scott Montgomery, who co-wrote it with director Clay Kaytis. Craig and Bryan Schulz serve as executive producers, along with Paige Braddock of Charles M. Schulz Creative Associates and several executive producers of Apple TV + partner WildBrain Studios.
