Apple TV + movie ‘Finch’ sets a new record for the opening weekend

Apple TV + movie “Finch” set a new viewing record on the streaming service, he states Rock. Citing unnamed sources who know how well Apple TV + content works, Rock says Finch had the biggest opening weekend ever on Apple TV +.

With Tom Hanks in the lead role, “Finch” tells the story of a man, a robot and a dog who survived in a post-apocalyptic world. From Apple’s description of the film:

In “Finch”, a man, a robot and a dog form an amazing family in a powerful and touching adventure of a man who wants to ensure that his beloved dog companion will be taken care of after he leaves. Hanks plays Finch, a robotics engineer and one of the few survivors after a cataclysmic solar event that left the world in desolation. But Finch, who has lived in an underground bunker for a decade, has built his own world to share with his dog Goodyear. He creates a robot, played by Jones, to keep an eye on Goodyear when he can no longer. As the trio embarks on a dangerous journey in the desolate American West, Finch strives to show his creation, called Jeff, the joy and wonder of what it means to be alive. Their journey is paved with challenges and humor, as it is just as hard for Finch to get Jeff and Goodyear to agree as it is for him to manage the dangers of the new world.

“Finch” premiered in more than 100 countries on Friday, November 5, and surpassed the previous weekend held by “Greyhound,” another Tom Hanks film.

Apple has secured the rights to more high-profile movies to increase the popularity of Apple TV +. In the coming months, Apple will debut “Flower Moon Killers” with Leonard DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, “Swan Song” with Mahershal Ali and Naomi Harris, and “Emancipation” with Will Smith.
