Apple Stock News: TSMC Will Make 3nm Chips in a Plant in Arizona
Apple Stock News: According to MacRumors, the $12 billion Arizona factory owned by Apple chip maker TSMC has ambitions to start mass producing the next generation of 3-nanometer processors. With the M2 Pro or M3 chip, Apple is reportedly switching its proprietary silicon to the 3nm process. It is anticipated that TSMC’s improved 3nm process will be used to produce both Apple’s M3 processor for Macs and the A17 chip for the iPhone 15 Pro models. Future Macs and iPhones will be able to operate at faster speeds and have longer battery lives thanks to the switch to more modern technology.
Apple Switches to Using Samsung’s iPhone Memory Chips
According to MacRumors, prior to the implementation of US export limitations on one of the leading NAND flash chip manufacturers in China, Apple will turn to Samsung for memory used in iPhones. For use in iPhones sold in the Chinese market, Apple originally planned to purchase 128-layer 3D NAND flash memory chips from Yangtze Memory Technologies (YMTC). These plans, however, were shelved last month after YMTC and 30 other Chinese companies were included on a list of businesses that US officials are unable to check and were given the designation “Unverified.” The Biden administration’s export restrictions on China are an effort to halt the nation’s scientific and military advancements by denying Beijing access to particular semiconductor chips produced anywhere in the globe using American machinery.
Apple Music Seen in a Tesla Model S
According to MacRumors, a future software update may bring Apple Music to Tesla automobiles, enabling Tesla users to access Apple Music through the built-in system of their vehicles. Someone on Twitter noticed a Model S vehicle running an unreleased software version with Apple Music loaded at a recent Tesla exhibit at the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles. Owners of Tesla automobiles have long wished for Apple Music integration in their vehicles.
The Dominance of Apple and Google in the Mobile Market in the UK
According to MacRumors, months after declaring it was planning a high-level investigation, the UK’s competition authority has started looking into the dominance of Apple and Google’s mobile browsers. According to the survey, 86% of participants are in favor of looking more closely at Apple and Google’s market dominance. The CMA may request extensive information from Apple as part of the market investigation, which must be completed within 18 months, in order to reach conclusions and put into effect legally binding remedies, which may include orders requiring Apple to make significant changes to its business practices . Separately, the CMA has been looking into Apple’s App Store terms and conditions since March 2021 as part of a competition law probe.
