Apple marks the 10th anniversary of Steve Jobs ’death

Apple today celebrates the tenth anniversary of Steve Jobs ’death with a special commemorative homepage on its website, including pictures and a link to a short film that captures some of his most memorable quotes and moments at Apple’s helm.

The home page also contains the Jobs family statement, reproduced below:

For a decade, grief and healing have gone together.
Our gratitude has become as great as our loss.

Each of us has found our way to comfort,
but we have gathered in a beautiful place of love
for Steve and for what he taught us.

Despite all of Steve’s gifts, she endured his power as a teacher. He taught us to be open to the beauty of the world, to be curious about new ideas, to see around the next corner, and most of all to remain humble in the beginner’s own mind.

We still see a lot with his eyes, but so can he
taught to seek ourselves. He gave us the equipment for life,
and he served us well.

One of our biggest sources of comfort was our connection to Steve and beauty. The sight of something beautiful – a wooded slope, a well-made object – is reminiscent of his spirit. Even in years of suffering, he never lost faith in the beauty of existence.

Memory is insufficient for what is in our hearts: we miss it very much. We were blessed to have him for a husband and father.

Also in memory, former Apple design chief Jony Ive, wrote a memoir of his friend and colleague for Wall Street Journal Magazine.
