Amazon is working on a number of new devices, including an Echo with a 15-inch wall screen, soundtrack, new Echo Auto technology and wearable items. According to a Bloomberg report.
The most suitable product would be the Echo with the Alexa-enabled screen function about 15 inches in size. Codenamed Hoya, not only could it be mounted on a stand like an ordinary Echo device, but it could also be mounted on a wall. It would serve as a smart home center for managing lights, cameras, locks and other devices, displaying time, timers, meetings, photos and more. It is specifically designed to work in the kitchen, displaying recipes and cooking videos on YouTube, while allowing you to stream Netflix and other apps.
The company could also announce its own soundbar, codenamed Harmony, that will follow rumors of Amazon-branded TVs. Unlike the independent soundtracks enabled by Alexa, it would have a front camera and support video calls from the TV, much like Portal TV on Facebook.
Finally, he reportedly develops a new version of Echo Auto (codenamed Marion). The updated version will reportedly have a new design and allow charging of the device via inductive technology. Amazon is currently partnering with Ford to put Alexa in 700,000 vehicles, but it clearly wants to team up with other carmakers as well.
Other works include new Echo speakers for 2022 and wearables for children and the elderly (the latter with fall detection). A dedicated processor to improve artificial intelligence is also reportedly being built along with new technology to help Fire TV, Echo and other devices work better together.
According to the report, the company is also working on some other, somewhat more unusual products. It was working on a home robot codenamed Vesta that would use the Alexa interface and also a karaoke microphone with Alexa drive — although the team working on this second project was reportedly disbanded.
